One in ten children has speech and language
difficulties. Without early identification and treatment, these children are at
risk for lifelong learning, emotional and behavioural
difficulties.
The Toronto Children's Centre is a specialty service for children with communication disorders. We provide intensive therapy programs for children, ages three to five, with moderate to severe speech and/ or language disorders. All therapy is conducted in small groups with three to four children and one speech-language pathologist.
There is no charge to parents for treatment at the Toronto Children's Centre (TCC). The Ministry of Children and Youth Services covers our operating costs and, through its fundraising activities, the Speech Foundation's volunteer Board of Directors funds our facility called Phillips House.
With a mandate to share its innovative approaches to treatment, the Toronto Children's Centre also offers consultation services and workshops for professionals.
